Studiocharlie

Objects have the power to make us feel better or worse, to make our life more complicated or more fulfilling. They can be annoying, invisible or exciting; they can procure welfare or impatience. They are an awkward presence or a reassuring one. We want to design objects which lower the background noise, which surprise in their essence, revealing the thought beyond the simplicity. Studiocharlie was founded in 2002 by Gabriele Rigamonti (Zingonia,1976), Carla Scorda (Catanzaro,1976) and Vittorio Turla (Rovato,1975). They received the Honourable Mention in 2004 for the XX Compasso d’Oro ADI with Csuni typeface project. In 2005 they designed Punto Pecora, their first fabric for Lanificio Leo; in 2008 they started collaborating with Boffi, designing 4millimetri table; in 2010 they made their first project for Vittorio Bonacina, Ala screen, while in 2011 they designed the Conchiglia sideboard for Lema. Studiocharlie participated in various exhibitions among which The New Italian Design (first edition: Triennale di Milano, last one: The Lookout, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town), Design of the other Things (Triennale di Milano), and Meet Design (Torino, Palazzo Bertalazone, and Roma, Mercati di Traiano).
In 2017, Studiocharlie has designed the 3Millimetri table and the Cielo-Terra lamp for De Padova.
