More shop windows in corso Venezia showroom april 2008 Redesigned the interior spaces
Eighteen shop windows: nine on via San Damiano and nine on corso Venezia. Since 1965, De Padova has meant this space, open to the heart of the city; the only intersection in Milan where you hope the lights stay red so you can take a break and enjoy window shopping. For a second, you can dream of being somewhere else. De Padova recently increased the number of shop windows on corso Venezia, expanding into the area once occupied by a pharmacy next door. This growth has led to a redesign of the interiors: “The logic that guided the idea of the grouping of the new volumes – explains the architect Ambrosoli, creator of the project – stems from the need to complete the entire facade on corso Venezia, in the context of a wider ranging corporate reorganization. There was a need to maintain criteria of architectural homogeneity, to revise the sales areas, shifting the position of the reception area and creating new display zones. Two large video screens showing the entire De Padova collection make the product offering more explicit and clear. “The mezzanine level – Arch. The final objective, and above all the leitmotiv of all the design phases, was to optimize the spaces of the showroom, in tune with the overall company reorganization that began in 2001 with the completion of the restructuring of the historic headquarters at Vimodrone, which I coordinated. “This was a challenge I have met with pleasure – Ambrosoli concludes. – My long relationship with the company has allowed me to easily identify the real needs of my client, also because the design choices have always been based on a stylistic affinity, a taste for simplicity and clean lines.”
