Holiday season shop windows 2009 december 2009
It’s not a dream, it’s all true. Riding bright red tricycles, bears compete on a long race track. Plush dogs doze on hassocks, while king-size Christmas ornaments fall from the sky.
De Padova interprets the holidays with the same playful irony that has always been the trademark of its shop windows. Red and white seem to play tag in the displays created by Valeria De Padova with the collaboration of Simona Cremascoli.
Sofas and chairs dress up in special fabrics. Red velvet for the Regent’s armchair and hassock, and a warm checked loden for the Atalante sofa by Jasper Morrison. The dining room is all in white, with the new Lavenham Executive chairs by Patricia Urquiola around Quadrato tables.
Just as in the home, the very simple objects of De Padova warm up the atmosphere and suggest ideas for big and small gifts. From wooden cutting boards in different lengths to glass candlesticks, Shaker baskets to the selection of historic coffee tables, like the Mate and Mini-Mate by Achille Castiglioni, near more recent pieces like the Chab-Table by Nendo.
For your letter to Santa, there are many appealing articles: wooden toys, rocking horses, soft things for infants; but also jewelry, accessories for the table, frames, books, and much more.
Good cheer and poetry, the things that make for a truly Merry Christmas.
