Vidun

Vico Magistretti
1987

In Milanese dialect it means a big screw: Vidun. The screw, a small, useful object, generated the idea of the first table in the De Padova collection. The big wooden screw is a masterpiece of interlocks, made in the first prototype by Pierluigi Ghianda, the master cabinet maker. In natural, white or black beech, or coloured in coordinated tones: violet with turquoise and green, red with yellow and goose-bill. Theatrical, like a sculpture. The tempered glass top offers a view of the base. “It is always the conceptual detail that attracts people’s attention”, Vico Magistretti said.

Type Rectangular or round table.

Top Tempered plate-glass, thickness 12 mm.

Base Natural beech with three feet, height-adjustable from 63 to 80 cm by means of the big wooden screw.

Finish / Colour Top: transparent plate-glass. Base: natural or aniline-stained beech, in the colour combinations violet-turquoise-green or red-yellow-goosebeak, finished with polyurethane varnish or black paint.
