Birgit Lohmann

Birgit Lohmann (Hamburg / Germany) Industrial Designer. Studied at Università di Firenze. She has lived and worked in Milan since 1987. For twenty years she has worked as designer and product development manager for several companies, Italian architects and designers, such as Achille Castiglioni, Vico Magistretti, Bruno Munari, Enzo Mari and Renzo Piano. She also worked as a design historian for law courts and international auction houses. As a researcher and professor, she chaired workshops on international design at the most prestigious universities of the world. In 1999 she co-founded Designboom, where she is currently editor in chief and curates international exhibitions.
