Oke

Oke is a traditional tool in the Japanese tradition. It is a small container to collect water and is realized by artisans that carefully select the wood and shave it by hand to maximise its beauty before the wood panels are handed over to an okeyuishi. The design of Oke recalls the shape moulded by the Japanese artisans. The Japanese cedar, a softwood found throughout Japan, is transformed into a low table with simple lines, realised with traditional and precise techniques to create a solid structure.
