Paolo Rizzatto is based in Milan and his work revolves around architecture, interior decor, design, and lighting. In 1978 he founded the company Luceplan with Riccardo Sarfatti and Sandra Severi.
He taught at various universities such as Columbia University New York, Politecnico di Milano, Cranbrook Center Detroit, Washington University Saint Louis, Moscow Architectural Institute, University of Palermo, IUAV Venice, Universitat Politécnica de Cataluña.
His work has been issued in magazines, catalogues, and other publications in Italy and abroad; his projects have been presented at seminars, architecture and design exhibitions, and are displayed in the permanent collections of numerous museums and foundations, including: Triennale di Milano, Museum of Modern Art (New York), Victoria and Albert Museum (London), Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci (Milan), Les Arts décoratifs (Paris).
He has worked as a designer for several Italian and foreign companies: Alias, Arteluce, Artemide, Cassina, Danese, Driade, Fiam, Flos, Guzzini, Ghidini1961, Knoll, Kartell, Lensvelt, Luceplan, Molteni, Montina, Nemo, Philips, Poltrona Frau, Rotaliana, Segis, Serralunga, Thonet, and Veneta Cucine.
